Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Choose Switch Location
Select an easily accessible location on your dashboard for the Goboll toggle switch. Ensure there's enough clearance behind the panel for the switch body and wiring.
Step 2: Install the Relay
Mount the 30A relay in the engine compartment, preferably in the fuse box or on a suitable bracket. The relay protects your toggle switch from high current loads.
Tip: Goboll toggle switches are rated for various currents, but using a relay extends switch life and improves reliability.
Step 3: Power Supply Connection
Connect the power supply wire from the battery positive terminal through the inline fuse to relay terminal 30. Use 14 AWG wire for adequate current capacity.
- Terminal 30: Battery positive (through 15A fuse)
- Terminal 87: To fog light positive terminals
- Terminal 85: To toggle switch
- Terminal 86: To ground
Step 4: Toggle Switch Wiring
Connect your Goboll toggle switch to control the relay coil:
- One terminal: Connect to relay terminal 85
- Other terminal: Connect to switched 12V (ignition circuit)
- If using illuminated switch: Connect illumination to parking lights
Step 5: Fog Light Connections
Wire the fog lights to the relay output:
- Positive terminals: Connect to relay terminal 87
- Negative terminals: Connect to vehicle ground
- Ensure all connections are clean and secure
Step 6: Testing
Before final assembly, test the complete circuit:
- Reconnect battery
- Turn ignition to ON position
- Activate toggle switch
- Verify fog lights illuminate
- Check for proper switch operation and indicator light (if equipped)
